David "David36" Bryan won the first leg of the SPT at Manchester's G Casino on Saturday 7th November, beating Daniel "dantb10" Brown, who cashed in the 2009 WSOP as a member of Team Sky Poker, into second place. David beat 149 other players to the first prize of £4,000 and also wins a seat into next September's SPT Grand final at DTD.

After twelve hours of play culminating in an exciting Heads-Up duel where the advantage swung towards both players, Bryan was dealt Pocket Nines which hit a set on the flop to seal the victory.

Other finalists included Mike "Maggiesdad" Quinlan who represented Sky Poker in the 2008 WSOP and top ranked professional snooker player Ryan Day.
